Raphael Kellman, MD, graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He pioneered “Microbiome Medicine,” a groundbreaking new approach to medicine and healing which includes integrating holistic and functional medicine. Dr. Kellman is the author of The Microbiome Diet and other books on health and healing, He manages a thriving medical practice and lectures all over the world.
Dana Laake and her special guest Amber Lynn Vitse, CN, will discuss recent discoveries about the gut microbiome and how this affects one’s overall health.
Amber Lynn Vitse is a Certified Nutritionist in Integrative Nutrition, and also brings her training in Ayurvedic medicine to the Garden of Life Education team. She has worked in product retail for 16 years, as well as maintained her own wellness practice, often working with doctors and alternative health practitioners promoting optimum health, inside and out. Amber has written educational articles for a variety of natural health publications, and she is excited to be a member of the Garden of Life Education team and continue the mission of Empowering Extraordinary Health®.

Bill Shaddle has been involved in helping doctors understand and apply nutrition as a therapeutic tool for nearly 40 years. Bill has managed sales teams, product lines, divisions and companies in the nutritional sciences field. He has developed workshops and training programs on different health and nutritional topics and is co-author of the acclaimed Nutrition Masters Course series. Bill is currently the Senior Director of Training for Metagenics, where he uses his background and knowledge to help train representatives to support practitioners.
Dr. Kevin Passero and his special guest Tom Malterre will be discussing how chemicals are altering our microbiome, hormones, and immune systems and what that means to our health.
Tom Malterre, MS, CN, received both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nutrition from Bastyr University and is licensed by the state of Washington as a certified nutritionist. Tom travels throughout the United States and Canada lecturing at conferences on topics such as vitamin D, gluten intolerance, and digestive health. He empowers people through classes, seminars, and private counseling with his insight and depth of knowledge on the biochemical interactions within our bodies, and their relationships to our diet.
