Special guest: Marcelle Pick, NP

Marcelle Pick, NP, co-founded the Women to Women Clinic in 1983 with the vision to not only treat illness, but also help women make healthy choices to prevent disease. In 2001, Marcelle created MarcellePick.com to reach, inspire, and educate more women with informative articles on women’s health issues and at-home solutions to some of the most troublesome symptoms. Marcelle discovered functional medicine early in her career and was among the first to be certified as a functional medicine practitioner. In addition, she holds a BS in nursing from the University of New Hampshire School of Nursing, a BA in psychology from the University of New Hampshire, and her MS in nursing from Boston College-Harvard Medical School. Marcelle is currently an educator with The Institute of Functional Medicine and has served as a medical advisor to Healthy Living Magazine. She is a prolific writer and lectures on a variety of topics including weight loss resistance, infertility, stress and illness, and adrenal dysfunction. She has appeared on Dr. Oz, FOX, and ABC to discuss women’s health.

Dr. Weiss is the first Naturopathic Physician to complete an internship, fellowship and residency at a conventional hospital (AZ Heart Institute). He is the first Cardiologist as a “Naturopathic Physician” and has treated more than 40,000 patients over the past 17 years. In 2012 he was named one of the “Leading Physicians in the World” a distinction given to under 1,000 physicians each year. He has worked in Haiti, Tibet, and recently on the Syrian border both in a medical capacity, and as a researcher to look at the biochemistry of violent behaviors, and radicalization. Dr. Weiss has lectured and taught in some of the finest academic and medical institutions in the world, including the first Holistic (functional) physician to lecture at the renowned Cleveland Clinic.

Special guest: Dr. Anthony Thomas

Anthony Thomas, PhD, earned his bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics and food science from California State University Northridge, his doctorate in nutritional biology from the University of California at Davis, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California at Los Angeles Larry Hillblom Islet Research Center. His primary research interests have focused on the influence of dietary and lifestyle factors on chronic cardiovascular/metabolic diseases including obesity, insulin resistance syndrome, and type 2 diabetes. He has authored/co-authored multiple peer reviewed scientific manuscripts and is currently is a consultant for Jarrow.

Special guest: Dr. Patricia Frye

Patricia Frye, MD, is a physician consultant with a focus on cannabis and the role it plays in homeostasis and the management of pain and chronic disease. She evaluates and manages patients who are considering the use of medicinal cannabis as a primary or adjunct therapy for illnesses. Dr. Frye graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, then continued her studies at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in the field of anesthesiology. She is professionally certified in cannabis science and medicine by the University of Vermont Larner School of Medicine and is a member of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians and the Academy of Integrative Pain Management.
